Oracle has announced that the initial beta build of Oracle Linux 7.0, a distribution built from source code for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 and enhanced with an "unbreakable" Linux kernel, is ready for testing: "We are pleased to announce the availability of the first beta build for Oracle Linux 7. We are very interested in your feedback and have setup a new mailing list for users to post their questions and comments. The beta release of Oracle Linux 7 supports the use of the following kernels: Red Hat Compatible Kernel (RHCK), based on mainline Linux version 3.10, this is the default kernel in the first beta release; Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 3 (UEK R3), starting with 3.8.13, based on mainline Linux version 3.8."
