Red Hat正考虑发力NoSQL/Hadoop

     <p> 前两天InternetNews.com对Red Hat 的 CEO Jim Whitehurst 进行了一次<a href="/misc/goto?guid=4958186890429574529">访谈</a>，期间问到了一个问题“Is Red Hat Interested in the Database Market?”（Red Hat是否有意涉足数据库市场？）Whitehurst 的回答是肯定的，并且表示其涉足的话，会是在NoSQL领域，以下是其原话：</p>    <blockquote>     <p>“When I say I don’t want to be a database company， I’m saying that I don’t want to be a SQL database company，” Whitehurst said.</p>     <p>我说我们不想成为一个数据库公司的时候，我指的是不想成为一个SQL数据库公司。</p>    </blockquote>    <p> 为了更明确他的想法，他又补充说：</p>    <blockquote>     <p>“But we would be very interested in a NoSQL type database or Hadoop type thing,” Whitehurst said. “Those are interesting as they represent net new.”</p>     <p>但是我们对NoSQL数据库，或者说是Hadoop相关的东西非常感兴趣，因为他们代表着一个新的技术时代。</p>    </blockquote>    <p> 其实早在去年五月份Red Hat官方就<a href="/misc/goto?guid=4958186891214691356">透露过</a>这样的想法：</p>    <blockquote>     <p>“We have consistently noted that the database remains a missing layer in Red Hat’s software stack… and would see advantages in adding an open source NoSQL database to its portfolio to target MySQL users.”</p>     <p>我们已经意识到在我们的整个产品链中数据库是缺失的重要一环，我们相信为MySQL的用户带来一款开源的NoSQL数据库会是一件很不错的事。</p>    </blockquote>    <p> 其实在之前的OpenShift PaaS中，Red Hat 就已经对MongoDB和Membase有所支持，估计在后续对NoSQL的选择中，这两者将会有一定的优势。而在Hadoop上面，与Cloudera、Hortonworks的合作都有相当大的可能，或者是DataStax这样Cassandra和Hadoop都支持的提供商也可能会是一个比较好的选择。<br /> <img title="Red Hat正考虑发力NoSQL/Hadoop" border="0" alt="Red Hat正考虑发力NoSQL/Hadoop" src="https://simg.open-open.com/show/1a941791d600ab07ba89d100319dda32.jpg" width="96" height="31" /></p>    <p>来源：<a href="/misc/goto?guid=4958186891961739758">blogs.the451group.com</a></p>
